Some here know that we do a toy drive every year. This is our 8th year. We deliver to the family homeless shelters along with Santa. This year we (my son and I - along with CHSL) will also be delivering to some affected families from the gulf oil spill crisis. So the need is even greater than usual. To mark 100 days of the gulf oil crisis we are asking YOU to send in somethingthing you love about Coastal La. We will post 100 of them on the website and here on July 29th (the 100th day). Please email your submissions (photos also welcome) to us at laheritagesociety@gmail.com It can be anything from one sentence to a paragraph, followed by your parish/city/state and first name.

We eat alligators and drink hurricanes... does the NFL really think they can steal our beloved fleur de lis and WHO DAT phrase? Join us in the petition for an apology from the suits at NFL and to boycott any NFL Merch until they back off our local shop owners and artists. Please spread the word!

I am thankful for so many things this year. Ironically it has been one of the toughest years of my life, but one that has left me most gratefrul. Without some of my friends here pitching in, I would not have made it this far. I am thankful for all of you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

With Halloween behind us it is time to start Jake's Friends Toy Drive for our annual Christmas toy delivery to the family homeless shelter! Usually I pick things up all year, this year that could not be done so I am counting a lil extra on my friends.... Lets make this Christmas special for some kids who really need that magic!
